Be near

Recently I have taken to this worship song ..."Be Near"..it resonates in my soul and heart and really speaks to me...I have been in a place where I am desperate to hear from the Lord...with my mom's illness and Ryan's dad's illness...there is jsut so much in our lives where it seems that God is not protecting. I know this to be false and I know that God is control and that he will use all these things to his glory....but I would just like to hear from him...to know that he is near.

Here are the lyrics:

You are all
Big and Small
beautiful
and wonderful
to trust in grace through faith
bust I'm asking to taste

Dark is light to you
depths are height to you
far is near
but Lord, I need to hear from you

Be near, Oh god
be near, Oh god of us
your nearness is to us out good
be near, Oh God
Be near, Oh God of us
Your nearness is to us our good

Your fullness is mine
revelation devine
but, O, to taste
to know you are much more than a page
to feel your embrace

Dark is light to you
depths are height to you
far is near
but Lord I need to hear from you

Be near, Oh God
be near, Oh God of us
your nearness is to us our good
Be near, Oh God
Be near, Oh God of us
your nearness is to our good

The line that gets me everytime is ....But Lord I need to hear from you! That is my hearts cry right now! Lord, I need to hear from you!

I love a little yard work

So I should have taken some pictures to go with this post....oh well!
Imagine if you will a yard with grass that is getting taller and taller..and everytime you think about going out to mow it starts raining! That has been us the past few weekends or even weekdays when I have had time to go out and work in the yard. This morning I had had it with our overgrown lawn and decided it was time. So I got out the edger and and edged the lawn (front and back), I then mowed both the front and back yard, then fertilized the lawn...because it was time and then took the leaf blower and cleaned everything up! Done! Tomorrow....I am going to work on the flower beds...because I need to make a run to the nursery...and I also need to pick lemons. Anyone need any? We only have about 300 on the trees right now!

I do truly enjoy being in the yard...the sun on my face and the warmth in the air. Hearing the birds and just enjoying God's creation!!!! What a joy it is!

I fixed it!

A few weeks back we had some terrible wind storms " Santa Ana Winds". These winds were so strong that they blew our gate open the wrong way causing it to break the lock. For a week or so now I have had the trash barrel in front of the gate..but yesterday I took care of it. I bought a new gate handle and installed it all by myself! I am feeling quite handy...now what can I fix?

Replaced the handle
Replaced the latch
completed...
and locked!

This is what happens when a fire hydrant explodes

A few days ago while driving home from work I came across this fountain of water shooting up.....you could see it from a few blocks away. What has happened was a couple driving west on Yorba Linda Blvd were cut off and ran into the fire hydrant. They were not hurt, but the fire hydrant was. It made for some amazing photos and for a lot of people to come out and see what was happening. I normally wouldn't stop for something like this...but it was so beautiful I couldn't resist!

3 Years.....

It's hard to believe that Ryan and I have been married for 3 years now. It seems like only yesterday that I said "I do". We have had a lot of adventure in the past 3 years...here are some of the highlights~
* Went to Puget Sound for our Honeymoon
* Hawaii for our one year anniversary
* Bought a house
* Helping my mom as she digresses deeper into Alzheimer's
* Had a dog ( Max) but realized its not the dog I am allergic to but the grass in the back yard
* Ryan got accepted to Law School ( but put it on hold for a while)
* Started the photography business
* Now we are thinking about a family!

Welcome 2009

I'm still not sure how I feel about another year wizzing by us....where is the time going? I am sure that this year will be another of month after month just going by..but my hope and prayer is that this year things will be different. This year will bring many changes...one of which I am going to be 35. I am still not sure how I feel about this milestone birthday..but I am going fully embrace it and enjoy every minute of it! I pray that we will have made a difference in the lives the others, that we would give more and be dependent on God ( it is so easy for us to be dependent on ourselves when things are going along good) There are several things that I would like to do this year...so I have yet again compiled a list..this time I kept it to 20..but I can add more if I feel the need!
