a longtime and a few thoughts

I admit it has been a while since my last post..having a cast on your arm makes it a bit hard to type..so I have to wait for a moment when my arm doesnt hurt..so here it is.

I recently signed up for a class at the local JC..its a photojournalism class..so far so good. Okay, it has been a lot of review since there are soooooo many in the class that have no prior knowledge of cameras or composition ....its a bit frustrating, but it should get better! Perhaps in a few days I will post some of my latest assignments.but not today!

Our church RockHarbor (www.rockharbor.org) has been going through a series on the Sermon on the Mount....challenging the ways we view things. This is very true as this last week we were given the challenge...."What is the state of my heart?" A good queston, one that I must ponder more and really pray about it...

WHAT IS THE STATE OF MY HEART????
WHAT IS THE STATE OF YOUR HEART?

radius distal fracture.....my broken arm

these are not the most flattering pictures of me...but I was laying down getting my cast put on when they were taken. I chose purple because my nephew Zachary broke his arm about 3 days before I broke mine and I told him I would get the same color cast as him...so there you have it. I will be in this cast for 5-6 weeks...but luckily there is no need for surgery!!!!

Uncle David and Aunt Jan's place

We got a chance to spend some time with Aunt Jan and Uncle David, as well as Aunt Judy and cousin Jon and friend Jessica. We got a tour of their 300 acre ranch (avocados and cows) They share a fence line with Hearst Castle...it was so beautiful!

Santa Barbara fun

Before making it to Cambria/San Simeon...we stopped in Santa Barbara....I LOVE THIS CITY!!!

camping and broken arms

Okay..okay..the title says broken arms...really its just one broken arm..MINE! We went camping this weekend in San Simeon near Hearst Castle and I broke my arm Saturday morning. Yes, I broke my arm while camping. I was standing in line when I lost my footing and fell down. It happened at 7:15 in the morning...so the good news is, there was no wait in the waiting room of the ER. The bad news is I broke my radius distal.... I see my doctor tomorrow then a specialist later to make sure that I wont need surgery.

Although I had a broken arm it didnt stop me from enjoying our time in Cambria/ San Simeon. It is so pretty there ...I would love to move there. We still got to see the Elephant Seals, do some wine tasting and have a great time. There was so much for me to photograph there...but with my arm it made it difficult. Enjoy the shots that I did get!
